The expense of therapy is certainly a real one, but it is almost always worth it. I urge you not to let finances interfere with you getting the help you need. Financial resources should not be an obstacle to receiving therapy. I do have a limited number of sliding scale spaces available. Feel free to call me to discuss fees and insurance related to your treatment.
How Much Does Therapy Cost?: The “Good Faith Estimate” (No Surprises Act of 2022)
The following information is provided as a Good Faith Estimate, in compliance with the “No Surprises” federal legislation, effective January 1, 2022.
I have recently terminated my contracts with all commercial insurance panels.
If you have a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan and are interested in using your insurance, I can provide a “superbill,” a statement that you can submit to your insurance company at the end of each month to receive reimbursement.
I accept clients who participate in the LYRA Employee Assistance Program. If you participate with Lyra EAP, Lyra covers the entire cost of your visit. You have no out-of-pocket cost.
No-Cost Consultation: You are entitled, and will be scheduled for a free / no-cost 10-minute phone consultation with the therapist to determine appropriate fit prior to scheduling an intake appointment.
Fee: My fee is currently $250 per 45-minute hour.
I have a limited number of sliding scale spaces available, based on financial need.
Frequency: I typically meet with clients once a week, although this can vary based on the specific needs of the client.
Service Code: Typically, the service code (CPT code) billed for a standard therapy visit is 90834 (psychotherapy, 45 minutes).
Additional Services: Phone consultations, travel time, emails and additional time outside of scheduled appointments are billed at the same rate as a therapy visit ($250/hour). For non-session services, the first 10 minutes of a service are provided at no charge.
Diagnosis: A diagnosis is required for insurance reimbursement. Employee Assistance Programs do not always require a diagnosis. Each client’s diagnosis will vary, and as such, could impact reimbursement rates with your insurance plan. If you would like to discuss your diagnosis as part of your treatment, we can discuss the diagnosis and the code used as part of your treatment.
Payment: I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards (processed via Stripe and IvyPay).
Because I do not participate in any insurance plans, you understand that your fee is due at the time of service.
